After a very successful first year of fund raising Breast Cancer 2000 were pleased to be in the position of funding £20,000 to a researcher Dr Robert Muir of the Western Infirmary Breast Care Unit.

£6,000 was given to The Beatson Oncology Centre to set up a communications website

Our second year of fund raising was also a great success and the charity was in a position to hand over £20,000 to Professor David George of the Western Infirmary Breast Care Unit. After discussions with Professor George we agreed to continue our funding for Research Fellow Dr Robert Muir who is very positive about the outcome of his research and we felt that he must have the financial support to see this through to its conclusion.

The remaining sum of £30,000 went to Dr Elizabeth Mallon, pathologist at the Western Infirmary who will be working on research to improve the treatment for Breast Cancer patients and in the future be in the position to offer patients more individual treatment.

This year the charity has donated £50,000 to Professor David George to purchase a Breast Ultrasound Machine for use in the Breast Care Clinics.

We are pleased to announce that our 2004 Annual Grand Ball was held at the Glasgow Hilton Hotel on the 2nd of October, and was a resounding success, raising £54,000.

We are pleased to announce that our 2005 Charity Ball was held in the Glasgow Hilton Hotel and raised £57,000. To date the charity has raised over £300,000.

We are pleased to announce that our 2007 Charity Ball was held in the Hilton Hotel, Glasgow and raised £117,000
