Breast Cancer 2000 is a Scottish Registered Charity which was established in March 2000 to raise funds and public awareness for Patient Care and Comfort at the Beatson Oncology Centre and the Western Infirmary Breast Care Unit. The units serve the communities of Glasgow and the West of Scotland.
The charity was founded by our late chairperson Doreen Don who was a patient at the Western Infirmary Breast Care Unit where she underwent a mastectomy at the age of 42. It was during this period that Doreen was inspired to set-up Breast Cancer 2000 given the excellent care she received throughout.
Breast Cancer 2000 are very proud of the fact that every £1.00 donated to the charity goes into the charity. No director receives any payment or expenses from the charity thus leaving all the funds to be distributed to where they are really needed.
